About Me: I am Nigerian-American, born and raised in Austin, Texas. I enjoy making meaningful connections with others, spending quality time with family and friends, laughing at memes on social media, trying to stay active and enjoy some time outdoors, listening to podcasts, and enjoying delicious international dishes. I am very grateful to train at an amazing program with such wonderful people to learn full-spectrum Family Medicine to meet the diverse needs of underserved populations.

About Me: Hello! I was born in New York but grew up in a small town in East Texas called Mabank. I love family medicine because it provides a multitude of opportunities to practice a wide range of skills and build long-lasting relationships with patients of all backgrounds and ages. Outside of medicine I love spending time with family & friends, trying out new places to eat, reading, and watching Bollywood movies and K-dramas. I am so honored and excited to join the WFM family and look forward to serving this amazing community!

About Me: I am the middle of three boys born in a small town in Southeast Colorado, although I mostly grew up in Dallas. I decided from a young age to pursue medicine and was drawn strongly to family medicine in my second year of medical school because of the opportunity for longitudinal relationships with patients and the ability to care for the whole person. I also love procedures and am excited to work with my hands, brain, and heart every day. My wife and I are thrilled to be in Waco, and you can surely find us trying out the local restaurants in our free time. When I am not working or eating, I enjoy running, weightlifting, playing disc golf or pickle ball, cooking, going to church, and spending time with friends.

About Me: Hey y'all! My fiancé and I are super excited to be joining the Waco family. I’ve slowly been making my way down to Texas over my years of education- from Indiana to Missouri to Oklahoma and now, here! I love all things outdoors and staying active. I’m enthusiastic about working out, gardening, hiking, Notre Dame football, and most importantly, coffee. I’m looking forward to serving the community of Waco and getting to know the area throughout residency.

About Me: My passion for reaching the underserved at home and abroad is deeply rooted in my faith in Christ. I grew up in a close-knit family in a rural area in North Texas. In my spare time, you can find me doing puzzles, watching a movie, or playing card and board games with family and friends. I also enjoy long walks, reading books, and cooking.

About Me: Hi! I was born in Georgetown, TX and grew up there before finishing high school in Houston. The next 9 years in Lubbock, TX at Texas Tech University, where I met my husband, Zac. You can find us cheering for the Red Raiders, cooking and eating good food, working out, hiking/camping/doing anything outdoors, and reading! We love our families, friends, and church communities and are excited to be here in Waco! My faith in Jesus Christ is a central part of who I am, and it is by His grace that I strive to live a life marked by joy, love, and compassion for all people.

About Me: I’m originally from Houston, TX and previously lived in Waco for undergrad (sic ‘em!). I love being outdoors, whether I’m walking, biking, playing pickleball, or sipping a cup of coffee. In my free time, I like to try new recipes, explore local places around Waco, and watch movies (I’m currently making my way through the top 100 IMDB movies). It’s such a gift to be back in Waco to serve and learn from this community – I’m convinced Waco is the best place in TX!

About Me: I grew up outside of Kansas City, Kansas and have spent a large portion of the last ten years growing closer to several rural communities in Kansas. This is where my interest in full-scope family medicine grew and I’m ecstatic for the opportunity to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds at WFM. Outside of medicine, my wife and I enjoy spending time with our golden retriever, Cooper, hiking new trails, playing pickleball, and exploring new restaurants.

About Me: ¡Hola! My name is Veronica Ortiz Carro, and I am from Caguas, Puerto Rico. I completed both undergrad and medical school at the University of Puerto Rico. I am an island girl at heart, who moved to Waco just to train with the amazing team at WFM. Within medicine, I am passionate about providing whole-person care to underserved communities, obstetrics, prenatal care, and global health. My Christian faith has played an influential role in my life, both personally and professionally. I think in Spanglish, and in my free time you will find me trying new recipes, crafting, or caring for my plants.

About Me: I grew up in a military family, eventually settling near the mountains of East Tennessee. I moved to West Tennessee for college and medical school, and now further West to Texas for residency! I met my wife Micah in college, and she makes my life better every day. I enjoy playing most sports, backpacking in the mountains, fishing for anything that bites, and watching the Memphis Grizzlies win. Most importantly I am a Christian—I love serving God and being a part of his church, and I am excited to see where he leads us next!

About Me: Hello! I grew up in Memphis and went to a small Christian college in Searcy, AR. That’s where I met my husband Jon, and we decided to go to medical school together. And now we are in the same residency—crazy! I love family medicine because you have the chance to take care of patients of all ages and build lifelong connections with them! In my free time, my husband and I love to take our pup Rosie to the park or for a walk around the neighborhood. We love to try new restaurants, travel to familiar and unfamiliar places, play board games with friends, and watch reality shows or crime documentaries. I am so happy that God gave me the opportunity to train at Waco Family Medicine! My vision for the future is practicing family medicine in an international setting and/or providing healthcare to an urban, underserved population.

About Me: I grew up in rural Arkansas and went to Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. I was fortunate to travel during my sophomore year and realized I wanted to pursue a profession that would allow me to serve my community and elevate others. I was fortunate enough to get into medical school with my wife Hayley and we moved to Memphis, Tennessee. My neighbors in Memphis taught me a lot about what life looks like for people with different backgrounds than me and what high-quality, accessible primary care can do for a community. I was lucky enough to match at Waco Family Medicine where I’m learning a broad skillset that will help me serve my future community. I love my job because I get to learn full-spectrum family medicine from people who are passionate for serving the underserved in Waco and globally. In my free time catch me eating Tex-Mex or walking our dog around North Waco!
