Our Mission

The research mission of the Waco Family Medicine – Institute is to conduct collaborative research [link to collaborations page] that advances the field of primary care, improves patient outcomes, and shapes health care policy.

Our research aims to address the unique challenges and opportunities in underserved primary care settings, with a focus on promoting evidence-based practices and enhancing the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered care. We are dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the field of primary care and ultimately improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities locally and across the United States.

Research Goals

Collaboration and Innovation

We actively seek partnerships with other healthcare organizations, academic institutions, and community stakeholders to leverage collective expertise and resources.

By working together, we aim to generate high-quality research that has a direct impact on the delivery of primary care services.

Key Priorities

We prioritize themes [link to page with research priorities] relevant to primary care, including but not limited to preventive care, chronic disease management, community health promotion, and healthcare disparities.

Our research should be both both rigorous and relevant, generating robust evidence through a variety of research methodologies.

Translational Research

In addition to conducting research, we are dedicated to translating our findings into practice.

We recognize the importance of disseminating research findings [Add link to publications] to healthcare providers, policymakers, and the broader community. Through knowledge translation activities, we aim to bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring that our findings are implemented in real-world settings to improve patient care, especially in underserved settings.
